Are you a "disciple" or "blessing seeker" of Christ?

ree

In the bible there have always been two kinds of people. Number one, the blessing seeker(who seek Christ only for the worldly blessings - or the ones that get satisfied when they have all their desired worldly blessings), and two, the disciple(people who seek Christ for their needs & much beyond - they seek Him for who He is and what He has done for us).

In John 6:26, we can see that Jesus addresses the people who followed Him saying, "you seek Me not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled". This implies that these groups of followers never really cared to understand the greater picture - that Jesus is the bread of life(John 6:35) & that He came to this world so that we can have eternal life(John 3:16).

But on the other hand, as mentioned in Matthew 16:16(Peter confesses that Jesus is the Christ, Son of the living God), the disciples believed in the bigger plan and sought Him for that very own reason.

And Paul also mentions in Colossians 3:2 that, we ought to set our minds on things above, not on things on the earth.

So ask yourselves this question today, "Are you a disciple or blessing seeker?"

And always remember that God wants us to be a part of the bigger plan & purpose of His!

May God's name alone be glorified!
