Proverbs 3:11-12 NKJV
[11] My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; [12] For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.
Yes, the chastening of the Lord is not all that easy to handle. That is why the author of this passage in Bible advices us not to despise or detest.
When I came across this verse I was in one side praising the Lord for his correction but in the other side was thinking how many years I lost in the process. That made me feel not so good.
But then the Lord reminded me of two men from Bible who were chastened by the Lord who also had to spend many years in the process. They are Joseph and Moses.
Moses had 40 years of wilderness experience where he was nurturing the herds.
Joseph as we all know had long years of suffering.
Yes, what is important is, are we in Christ at the end of it all? Have our ways been made straight with the Lord?
If so then I strongly believe it is matter of time before we prosper in the Lord. As the Lord said, Matthew 5:14 NKJV
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Yes, have you ever felt drained at the end of the spiritual warfare? Have you made certain that you are with the Lord? Do not worry. Your time is coming. The time for the Lord to shine through you is a lot closer. Wait for it. Psalm 147:11, Isaiah 40:31, Isaiah 49: 23 all talk about the benefit of waiting on the Lord.
May God bless you
