...teach me thy statutes - David's prayer

Many of us might be aware that reading Bible and understanding should be part of any person to lead a victories walk in Jesus Christ. Still most of us falter in that. There was David who followed the word of God diligently. But how was that possible for him?

It was his prayer to the Lord to teach him to keep His commandments. That is what we read in Psalm 119:12, 19, 26, 27, 29, 34, 35 and so on.

Yes, he got the ability to understand and obey His commandments by praying to the Lord and making attempts to read the word of God.

Dearly beloved this is a great example for us. Let us ask God to show us how to understand the follow His statutes. He will definitely answer our prayers.

How do we know that the Lord has answered his prayers?

In the same Psalm 119 verses 50, 54, 55, 60, 61 and so on.

Yes, we need to trust in the Lord and delight in His words. Praying for the same will help us to do so. Psalm 119:26 shows us the way he prayed. For some, praying itself is a mystery. Here is the clarity provided by David where he says...I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me.... Lets take a clue from here. Let us explain Him our ways. He will hear our prayers and help us walk in ways pleasing to Him.

இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவில் வெற்றி நடைபோடுவதற்கு பைபிள் வாசிப்பும் புரிதலும் ஒரு பகுதியாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதை நம்மில் பலர் அறிந்திருக்கலாம். இருப்பினும், நம்மில் பெரும்பாலோர் அதில் தடுமாறுகிறோம்.

கடவுளின் வார்த்தையை விடாமுயற்சியுடன் பின்பற்றிய தாவீது இருந்தார். ஆனால் அது அவருக்கு எப்படி சாத்தியமானது?

அவருடைய கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ள கற்றுக்கொடுக்கும்படி கர்த்தரிடம் அவர் செய்த ஜெபம் அது. சங்கீதம் 119:12, 19, 26, 27, 29, 34, 35 போன்றவற்றில் நாம் அதைப் படிக்கிறோம்.

ஆம், கர்த்தரிடம் ஜெபிப்பதன் மூலமும், தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையைப் படிக்க முயற்சிப்பதன் மூலமும் அவருடைய கட்டளைகளைப் புரிந்துகொண்டு கீழ்ப்படியும் திறனை அவர் பெற்றார்.

அன்பானவர்களே, இது நமக்கு ஒரு சிறந்த எடுத்துக்காட்டு. அவருடைய கட்டளைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவதை எவ்வாறு புரிந்துகொள்வது என்பதைக் காட்டும்படி கடவுளிடம் கேட்போம். அவர் நிச்சயமாக நம் ஜெபங்களுக்கு பதிலளிப்பார்.

கர்த்தர் அவருடைய ஜெபங்களுக்கு பதிலளித்தார் என்பதை நாம் எப்படி அறிவோம்?

அதே சங்கீதம் 119 இல் 50, 54, 55, 60, 61 போன்ற வசனங்கள்.

ஆம், நாம் கர்த்தரை நம்பி அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளில் மகிழ்ச்சியடைய வேண்டும். அதற்காக ஜெபிப்பது நமக்கு அவ்வாறு செய்ய உதவும். சங்கீதம் 119:26 அவர் ஜெபித்த விதத்தை நமக்குக் காட்டுகிறது. சிலருக்கு, ஜெபம் என்பது ஒரு மர்மம். தாவீது வழங்கும் தெளிவு இங்கே. அவர் கூறுகிறார்... என் வழிகளை நான் உமக்கு விவரித்துக் காட்டினபோது எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தீர்.... இங்கிருந்து ஒரு குறிப்பை எடுத்துக்கொள்வோம். அவருக்கு நம் வழிகளை விளக்குவோம். அவர் நம் ஜெபங்களைக் கேட்டு, அவருக்குப் பிரியமான வழிகளில் நடக்க நமக்கு உதவுவார்.
