Why do we need to read Old testament? - my view.

I have seen many people saying old testament is not relevant today but for the promises.

I beg to differ from that. There are many saints' walk with the Lord are documented. When we read them we easily could relate to the situations that they were in with the situations that we might go through.

All might agree with me the saints in the old testament also were guided by the spirit of God. So how the spirit of God led them in various circumstances are living lessons for us.

To take couple of examples, we can think of what David went through. He helped Saul and his kingdom. But he was looked at with enmity. Still he persisted with Godly principles. And he could survive and in fact succeed.

Look at how King Jehoshaphat dealt with the situation his kingdom faced only with the help of God.

Yes, these are tip of the iceberg kind of scenarios that everyone would find to be useful. There are a plenty like these.

Yes, you can easily relate them to the current situations and take the guidance from the word of God there of.

So not only promises there are plenty of scenarios that would help each and everyone of us to learn from and deal with.

Let us read the entire Bible; there is a purpose behind why God gave us the Bible with two testaments. Lets realize both are to be read and applied in our daily walk with the Lord.
